Vehicle Information

  • NUMBER ONE RULE:  SAVE THE VAN.  Without the van, Chris cannot go anywhere!  This will seriously jeopardize his daily routine.

  • The vehicle is insured and paperwork is in the glove compartment.  Safety is paramount to anything else.  Drive accordingly.  If an accident occurs, get pictures of other vehicles, driver’s license, and insurance information. Call us immediately. If you need medical attention please state so.

  • The van is very heavy so it requires more time to stop than your average vehicle.

  • The van has a safety sensor to alert the driver of hard braking and accelerations.  If you hear the beeping, one of these has occurred.  Please accelerate slowly and break early.  Failure to do so wastes fuel and brake pad life.

  • Braking in an emergency situation is ALWAYS acceptable.  Regardless, leave an adequate safety zone around the vehicle.

  • Fuel:  The van should always have more than a 1/3 tank of gas.  Notify Chris every time the vehicle is started as to how much fuel is available.

  • You will most likely have to go to a gas station during a slow period in the office.  Chris HATES getting fuel in the morning on his way anywhere. It is preferred to get it without him.

  • Wheelchair release/alarm:  If you are unable to stop the alarm or release the chair by pressing the buttons on the control box, make certain that the cord is fully plugged on the underside of the of control box.
